December 2020 Newsletter/Break to Breakthrough
How climate change has directly affected landscapes and livelihoods all over the world.
Dear Raising the Vibe Members and friends,
Sometimes you have to break to break-through. This has been a theme for many of us during this transformative year. Unfortunately, this literally happened to me a couple of weeks ago as I was hiking near my new home in the mountains outside of Asheville. I was going up a steep incline and before I knew it the tree I was holding onto broke and I fell flat on my back causing a slight lung collapse, 4 fractured ribs and 3 transverse spinal fractures. (It sounds worse than it was.) There was much symbolism in the fall as I held on to a dead tree that broke only to be caught by a live tree which prevented a fall to the rocky waterfall below that. The wind was completely knocked out of me, so the rebirth theme of new breath was there too.
For someone who is most at home in the giving role, receiving and being cared for is not as comfortable. So what a lesson for me to have to be rescued by about 20 people to get the stretcher down the precarious waterfall area. After two days in the hospital, I then needed to be cared for at home for several days. In addition to receiving, I had to learn to be still and just be. Gratefully, I have almost fully recovered, thanks to the care of health professionals and many of you sending me divine healing energy.
I hope that your struggles this year were less dramatic and each disappointment or emotional pain was a clear indicator of what needs to be healed. While we are grateful for becoming aware of our “opportunities for growth” in 2020, it is a good time to set intentions for all the new you would like to enter your life in 2021. Hopefully, I will see you at some of our monthly Zoom events in 2021.
